Many employees are quick to admit that they simply guess what stocks, bonds, and mutual funds to invest in when beginning to participate in a new employer match plan. So, what can you do to make an informed investment decision without spending hours online searching for tentative information?
Meet 401(k) Optimizer, a web-based tool created by the minds of Howard Capital Management, an SEC-registered Investment Adviser. This financial tool may help employees who currently participate in a 401(k), 403(b), or 457 employer plan with data-driven portfolio recommendations.
After you link your financial institution, the proprietary algorithms of the HCM-BuyLine®️ indicators begin to calculate their recommendation strategy for your individual employer plan. The HCM-BuyLine®️ uses trend analysis to help identify the broad trend in the equity market, then makes recommendations based on one of three scenarios:

Why are you offering me access to a 6-month subscription to this financial tool?
When we find a product or service we truly believe may be able to provide insight, relieve work, or educate our clients, we want to share that resource with you. We love the convenience of receiving quarterly 401(k), 403(b), or 457 plan recommendations tailored specifically to your company -- with minimal effort on your end.
Do I need to be an existing client or have other investor qualifications in order to utilize this offer?
No, you do not need to be an existing Chastain Park Capital Partners, LLC client. In order to better explain how 401(k) Optimizer works, we do require you have an initial discussion with a Financial Advisor so that you are informed on how you can make the most of your subscription.
What happens when my complimentary 6-month trial of 401(k) Optimizer comes to an end?
You will still have access to your 401(k) Optimizer dashboard, although you will no longer receive updated and customized allocation recommendations. If you would like to extend your subscription, you will have the opportunity to add your own payment information. Plans are about $9/month.
Will you or the 401(k) Optimizer platform have access to my employer login information?
No, not at all. You are the only one who will have the ability to access your employer plan details, just as you do right now. 401(k) Optimizer functions to provide recommendations, but it is up to you to choose whether or not to execute those reallocations on your own. Think of 401(k) Optimizer as a supplemental tool, not an automated program.
Okay, what if I am looking for an option that allows active management my employer plan?
Restructuring your current employer plan to an active management structure may or may not be an available option for you. The active management option is generally referred to as a Self-Directed Brokerage Account (or SDBA). Learn more about the SDBA and whether or not it is permitted by your plan sponsor here.
